I potted a culm of my phyllostachys bissetti last fall. It made the transition to indoor plant fairly well, losing some leaves, but never exhibiting catastrophic leaf loss or curl.
Today I noticed that it's got a new shoot coming up! Awesome. Not sure if it's a shoot per se, or just a rhizome that got directed upwards by the side of the clay pot. In any case, this is a good development.
